Holt's Hosts Kate Moss for Topshop [Oct. 30th, 2007|11:49 pm]

It's about time we get a little piece of Kate to ourselves. I just received an e-mail notification that the Kate Moss for TOPSHOP Holiday 2007 collection will be debuting at Holt Renfrew (Bloor St, Toronto) after the Christmas Windows unveiling/performance on November 6th. It will be from 7-9PM on the 3rd floor in the contemporary womenswear area.

I have a feeling that despite our strong dollar, the prices will still be at a skewed conversion rate. Oh well, can't always have the whole cake, right?

Here are a selection from the Topshop website I'm particularly excited about:

Clover Print Blouse £35.00

Cross Back Vest with Neck Tie £20.00

Wool Sailor Trousers £50.00

Flat Biker Boot £90.00

The Chanel 2008 Cruise collection debuted with a runway show at Los Angeles airport where models were flow in on two jets. The slick and glamourous transformation including a cocktail lounge set the tone for a strong Cruise collection. While staying true to the black and white house colours, the collection also saw influence from the wildchild lifestyle of Hollywood with bright hippie headscarves and vintage style dresses laced through with a fun orange hue.

As always, the Chanel shows are well attended with a slew of celebrities. Jessica Alba's outfit was particularly standout.

Money Can't Really Buy You Happiness...or Can It? [Sep. 14th, 2007|01:33 am]

This is an article that I have bookmarked. The article follows several women who spend a large amount on high end items. What do you think?

I think it can work both ways and what people mostly disagree on in this classical argument is NOT whether money can bring happiness, but what happiness itself means.

I think these purchases really do make these women happy. Perhaps not happy in the same way a lover or a friend could make you feel. But happy in the thrill, that physical jump in spirits when purchasing such items, the self confidence that it can bring, etc.

Welcome to the beginning of a fabulous life! This community is based on the belief that a rich and fulfilling life is one in which style resonates throughout; fashion, home, food, entertainment, travel, and every other aspect of life.

Style is not about wearing the trendiest clothes, the cheapest or most expensive, or passing off a ill-fitting blend of AA, Urban Oufitters, and Goodwill finds as daring and stylish. It's about knowing yourself and what works for you, being open-minded, innovative, and confident.

There is no place for snobbery from anyone. Do not bash people for buying inexpensive items but do not make snide remarks towards those who choose to spend more, either. I'm tired of this type of behaviour and want a different environment for this community. Below are the FAQs to answer your questions and help you enjoy your time here. Thanks for joining!
